2vs2 Tournament Format & Rules

Post by MinatO »

Tournament details:

Tournament consists of 2 stages (groupstage + double elimination knockoutstage).

Groupstage:
*4 teams of each Group will advance to the knockout stage
*A match consists of playing both sides on 1 map.
*Points given per match (3 points when winning 1 side, 1 point for drawing 1 side and 0 points for losing 1 side). Thus a maximum of 6 points can be earned each match.

Double Elimination Knockoutstage:
*Double elimination means that a team has to be defeated twice before being kicked out of the tournament. Everyone starts in the winners bracket. If you lose in the winners bracket, you will be moved to the losers bracket. The winner of the winners bracket will play the winner of the losers bracket in the grand final.
*Each round except the grand final, consists of a best of 3 map format. You must win 2 out of 3 maps to advance to the next round.
*Grand final consists of a best of 5 map format. You must win 3 out of 5 maps to win the final.
*If teams draw by flags in a playoff match, the winner of the map is decided by total amount of points.
*If you lose in the losers bracket, you're eliminated from the tournament.

See example below:

Image

Default match time is 21:00 on Sundays. (After 5on5 SFL)
Teams are allowed to reschedule within the same week. If matches are played on a different day, inform tournament organizer to have an admin appointed. If teams can not reschedule, Sunday will still be the default match day and the first upcoming Wednesday is the default rematch day.
If one of the teams doesn't show up on the default rematch date, a default will be given.

Anti-cheat details:

Leagueservers will have these anticheat measures installed:
*Latest cvar checks from Sofplus (blocks cvars used in aimbots & wallhacks)
*Anti-aimbot script from Dende

Neutral admin(s) will be recording players.
The head-admin (MinatO) will re-record all provided demos with wallhack enabled on twitchtv. This makes it easy to catch potential wallhackers.

Current banlist: none

Server settings:
Phosphorus grenades disabled
Unlimited Ammo
Realistic Damage on
Bullet Only
Claymores disabled
Flag drop disabled
Teamchat only
Password: sflmatch
Timelimit: 21
Caplimit: 0

Violations:
-Players who cheated during the season: Permanent Ban
-Trickjumps = -3 flagcaptures (=C4 jumps or jumps behind/on top of boxes/walls that aren't suppose to be accessible. For example: Irqctf1 - C4 jump @ windows, jump @ big health, jump on rooftops)
-Flagpass = -3 flagcaptures

Match Admins:
-Match admins take screenshots of scores + stats at end of the map
-Games may not be paused while flags are in progress
-If a match-admin is unavailable, one of the 2 teamcaptains can ask the Tournament Organisor for temporary rcon

Flaming:
-Flaming results in a mute, this also means your teambinds won’t work anymore
-Flaming towards admins results in a week ban.

Additional/other rules:
-If a team is unable to show up, they must notify the other team beforehand for a rematch. If not, the opponent has the right to choose whether they want default or rematch. This is a measure for teams who did actually show up and didn't waste their time.
-Rematches must be done before the next round on a mutually agreed day. (only for knockoutstage)
-If a team does not show up within 15 minutes, the opponent is entitled to take a default or rematch
-Standard pause time is 5 minutes per team, per map.
-Games may not be paused while flags are in progress
-No backup players for this season. This is to avoid that groups of 3 are formed by default which might decrease the amount of signups.

Prizemoney
*The winner receives a total prize of €150.
*The runners-up receive a total prize of €50.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q: We lost our match in the winners bracket, what happens now?
A: You will be moved to the losers bracket, you can still win the tournament if you get out of the losers bracket to the grand final.

Q: We ended 13th in the groupstage/qualifier and now also lost our first match in the loser bracket? What happens now?
A: You are out of the tournament.

Q: When do we vote maps?
A: There will be no mapvote. Almost, if not all possible 2on2 maps will be played throughout the tournament. Which maps are played in the groupstage or knockoutstage depend on the dimensions of the map. Asymmetic maps will be played in the groupstage due to the format of the knockoutstage.

Q: UAC died, is there no anticheat?
A: Since UAC's death, there has been no proper replacement but let's not kid ourselves. UAC was cracked as well.
Cvar checks will be enabled to prevent certain wallhacks and Dende's anti aimbot script will be installed to prevent aimbots.

Sup Julien,

I PMed Minato and sent the following "fixes":

basement:
Added 2 sapwns to each side and fixed spawns facing the wall.
Moved shotties away from walls slightly

cst_iraq1
Added 2 spawns per base. 5 per base now.

iraq_final
Removed extra overlapping spawn from blue side.

cst-roof1 should have the sky change as you mentioned but I did not include that text file.

Haven't had any feedback for saiyanswarehouse(final).
DH, BC, Ahmed server and ctrl's servers already have the saiyan(final) mod as well as the other 3 above.

I am not happy with saiyans as it is now ... the basement, never got any feedback (except you) I was hoping to go over it with few players and do a complete proper fix once and for all.
Main reason I haven't uploaded the "fixes" to the map fixes forum.

Adapted the Anti-cheat section.

From now on, neutral admins will record the players if not already done so before.
The head-admin (myself) will re-broadcast these on twitch tv with wallhack enabled.
This makes it easy to point out if players are wallhacking or not.

This is to further motivate players that cheats are taken seriously and that I will do the necessary to keep this tournament clean. We are after all playing for a moneyprize.
I hope this soothes the minds of those who had some concerns in the last 2 weeks.

Random, just toggle between the 4 and record each 10 minutes or so. The players won't know when they are the ones being recorded.

Edited 1 part concerning rematches, in spirit of the upcoming playoffs:

Default match time is 21:00 on Sundays. (After 5on5 SFL)
Teams are allowed to reschedule within the same week. If matches are played on a different day, inform tournament organizer to have an admin appointed. If teams can not reschedule, Sunday will still be the default match day and the first upcoming Wednesday is the default rematch day.
If one of the teams doesn't show up on the default rematch date, a default will be given.

What if the team that shows up on sunday can't play on wednesday and a different date is not possible?

When you put it like this the team that shows up on the official matchday will receive a default loss because they are not able to play on the rematch day.
