Apparently a few days ago an underground Russian 1337 hackzor emailed Ctrl asking for help with QeffectsGL ( a "Graphic Mod for OpenGL-based Games" which is a few years old but we've never heard of it until now, i don't know who created it)
what it looks like below (see attachments)
Download here : https://code.google.com/p/qeffects-gl/downloads/list

Ctrl made it work and provided some simple instructions;

Instructions:
1. extract, rename the .dll to 3dfxvgl.dll (just for convenience as you will see)
2. Put the .dll and .ini file in your sof1 directory (where your SoF1.exe is)
3. Press F5 and change video setting to 3dfx and apply changes
4. set gl_driver opengl32
(without a vid_restart, now join a server to bypass the gl_driver kick)

Sounds interesting. Your screenshots seem dead, could you check them?

It reminds me of the difference between Tomb Raider (PS3) version and the Definitive Tomb Raider (PS4), a bit sharper and brighter. Will check it out sometime. Good job.

True its nice increase, i don't get any fps lag using this, but people with older hardware might

Thank the mystery Russian "Dmitri" who only plays single player for contacting Ctrl about it, and the Russians who actually made the .dll

SoF plus will have to be changed - it's considered a wallhack, just got kicked.

follow step 4
set gl_driver opengl32
without vid_restart, and you wont get kicked
edit* true ctrl is going to update SoFplus to allow this, and maybe add some cvars so you can adjust the bloom settings on/off

You can adjust it by lowering brightness so it is not too bright.

Pee on it. Snow turns yellow when you pee on it.
