Week 1:
If you believe you're unable to attend a match, PM me or your opponents asap, or try to get a backup player! Otherwise it will be a rematch/default.
Ofcourse not, nobody is.Fuckemup wrote:I see the uac3 guids from dende, and gallo is not posted.
Are they allowed to play without it?
Don't worry raptor, in the knockoutstage, each matchup consists of 3 maps, and the finals even 5. Teams can choose their own maps against the opponent they wish.rotpar wrote:No jpn? :-(
What about week 9, sudctf1? isn't it a symetrical mapMinatO wrote:Only reason I did not apply this to the groupstage is so that all assymetrical maps would be played in the groupstage.
Ran out of assymetric maps for the last 2 weeks.Wucho wrote:What about week 9, sudctf1? isn't it a symetrical mapMinatO wrote:Only reason I did not apply this to the groupstage is so that all assymetrical maps would be played in the groupstage.
People milk something out, when there's money to earn. What exactly am I earning here Smoke?smokestaH wrote:I know u are putting money in this, but u are clearly milking it. So after this league stage there is a knockout stage? Hooah, im surprised there wasnt a pre-season tournament to seed the players....
That's my point, there's nothing to earn so your "milking out" comment made no sense, especially when this tournament format was always the initial plan.smokestaH wrote:@ Minato, there is nothing to earn in SoF. U shouldnt have put money in it to begin with, well not in a 2on2 comp anyway.
fyi, u CAN have double elimination (upper/lower bracket) without a groupstage / seeds.
U are making a simple 2on2 tournament last for months, u are milking it. I mean, i hope u do realise u are asking players in the SoF scene (players that are not reliable at all) to show up 3-4 months in a row on sunday. U couldve done a simple single elimination bracket, make it last 1 month max.MinatO wrote:That's my point, there's nothing to earn so your "milking out" comment made no sense, especially when this tournament format was always the initial plan.smokestaH wrote:@ Minato, there is nothing to earn in SoF. 2on2 comp is the only comp where you can add a cashprize. The 5on5 tournament doesn't have enough participants for a prize. 4 teams basically means you got a 50% chance of winning a prize? (runners up included)
Having said that, I believe that if the 2on2 tournament succeeds, it might spark some players to play again/more actively in the 5on5 league aswell.
Give me an example of a double elimination without groupstage or seeds. I have never seen it and don't really see how you can have a winners & losers bracket without some sort of pre-elimination that seeds them into the proper bracket.
I don't believe 3 months is too long for a tournament. Groupstage takes 2 months, 3 teams will drop out (most likely teams that weren't reliable/defaulted vs others as you say). Knockoutstage (+- 1 month) will have teams dropping out every week at a rapid rate (4-8 in the first weeks). The team that wins the upper bracket final, already has a 1-0 advantage in the grand finals as stated in the tournament format topic.smokestaH wrote:U are making a simple 2on2 tournament last for months, u are milking it. @ Elimination part. Do u even know what a double elimination bracket is for? lol. Why do teams have to start with upper/lower bracket? U can have everyone start in the upper bracket, first round, losers drop the lower bracket. Obviously there has to be an advantage for reaching the grand final through the upper bracket, which is the team that went through the upper bracket only has to win 1 map and the lower bracket team 2 maps. Obviously different map win rates depending game / structure.
