Seems like everything was released in 2000. Every demo, patch and official edition.

Now stop this pointless discussion, its getting boring.
Na it was realesed in 98, now step it up bitch :whacky:
It's just sad that this argument is the most active topic on the forum right now, and lots of people actually read this shit (including myself) :mrgreen:.

Reminds me of a time, where I was lower in the hierarchy of SOF legends and people used to say they were oldskool because they played sof for 3 years already :troll:.

I bet this shit will never change and in 10 years, Smoke and Junior will meet again, on the boards of soldier of fortune XIII.
"lolz smoke, you're not oldskool m8, you started in gold patch, i started in alpha v1.02b where skin stiletto still had a penis, ask GI MAM NL, she was rocking doghouse with this skin :troll: ".

Actually you seem to care what i think about pazey as took it up first... not me.
Same goes for the oldskool part, that seem to hit a nerve inside your anus or something..
You either  didn't show me any proofs that sof was released in 2000' others than SOF GOLD EDITION was released in year 2000, a patch that fixed all the old bugs from earlier versions(etc, you could now swap team normaly.. before you had to change skins to change team, color8bugs fixed, more skins&maps added). And don't give me some vikipedia shit, cause i can make that myself...
Jelly of BAD vs EFZ? roflmfao, yes really really jelly if you say so.
Still i gave you a list of players... ask them 4-5 people are wrong... sure fatboyslim sure

Yes for me, being oldskool is atleast someone who saw the clans back then... not join the 2-3 wannabeclans that stole there tags 1-3 years later and claim they are oldskool.
You was in nAz and [MoD] in your early days yes? yes!

Ok yes, now thats 2 clans that was restarted without any of there good or original players.
nAz Smoke joined nAz that got started by Bullrot.
Did you even know how powerful nAz was in the early days? Did you even heared of Kiplin,Skylord,Lordpit,Kone,Trinity,Messed did you even know [MoD]s lineup before you joined there 3-4th comeback. Did you ever play a 10 flaglimit 0 timelimit 5on5 game of irq or ger in your life?
Now thats oldskool, B4E/BAD vs EFZ 20 mins of nycctf1.... hell yeah buddy i feel yaaaaaaaaaaaa Thats were sof started, i feeeeel yaaaa  :fp:
Aight this is gonna be my last post regarding this. The problem u have is nomatter what i type, u just dont get it, this reply u typed, makes no fucking sense. Its like im having a discussion with a baboon.

Let me just break your post down in pieces.

1) "Actually you seem to care what i think about pazey as took it up first... not me." - When i post about something, doesnt mean i actually "CARE" about the subject. I just had to point out your little childish attitude.
2) "Same goes for the oldskool part, that seem to hit a nerve inside your anus or something.." - Well, isnt that weird. U seem to post SoF 98 and LULZ NO SCREENSHOTS WITH PATJA in almost every post when i call u out.
3) "You either didn't show me any proofs that sof was released in 2000'" - Jesus motherfucking christ.
4) "Jelly of BAD vs EFZ? roflmfao, yes really really jelly if you say so." - Hooah. Reading and understanding english is hard, isnt it? I explain my point in my previous post, wont repeat it. In the end; you said something and i throw it in a trash. I use facts, proof. U on the other hand enjoy fiction.
5) "Yes for me, being oldskool is atleast someone who saw the clans back then" - Good job not knowing the definition of OLDSKOOL.

U should just stop responding when someone laughs at your existence. Making a fool out of yourself everytime u produce one of your amazing replies.

I gotta give it to u tho, u keep trying and trying.

you started in early 2000 yea? How come you never saw any color8 bugs on the scoreboard?
Or that you always could use the skin you wanted? things wasn't like this in the earlier versions.
Or any of the oldskool pics you posted from early 2000, never had any cyan tags innit? or the color bugs im talking about =O)
Makes sense doesn't it? Not many that could witness this, but i am one of them so is weedy,fragman,weirdo,dutch thats about it.
Image ( thank you Acadie =) )
Thats the colored bugs i was talking about, anyone with colours in there tags and names had bugs like this on the scoreboard.
But when you typed something it showed your real colours. And you also couldn't change skins lol.

The first guy with best connection got into the server with skin Sabre or Muscle all had to choose skins under there category.
Was changed back in year 2000 in the Gold 1,06 release :)

Can't be, Jr started playing SoF in 1997. A super secret beta for soon-to-be legendary SoF players.

Not sure if anyone still cares but I did some digging:

Never heard of this OEM version before but the disc says 1999 and here's a review of the bundle from December '99:

Another mention of it, what's this about a leak?

It should be noted that none of these sources refer to this version as a demo and according to the last one there wasn't one planned "anytime soon" (Nov '99). I almost want to buy that disc to see what it is lol

Apparently there were at least 3 demos for PC:

Razer OEM (??.99) - 4 single player stages with 1 difficulty
US Robotics OEM (??.00) - multiplayer
PC Gamer (04.00) - 2 single, 2 multi

Were there others?

Full game was available and bundled with ASUS V7700 Deluxe, I built few systems with that card and quite a few with the V7100 version.
There were 2 other games. Should be another thread here with more info and pictures.

Scroll down to the Software section:
http://www.dansdata.com/v7700d.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I did install and play SoF before 2000 (Sep to Dec 99) to test the systems.
Even if the release date or file creation dates say something, we know Raven didn't start thinking of SoF, design, test and release it the same day.

The cards I bought were from wholesale not retail stores but the deluxe versions became available close to the end of 1999 in retail stores

I have 2 of them mice with the box and all purchased later than the above dates.

Do you have anything concrete that says 1999? All that I could find pointed to mid-2000.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce2-gts.c797" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here are some pictures of this thing, too bad the disc is out of frame:
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t= ... tart=28820" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A lengthy piece on SoF's development:
https://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/ ... wares_.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

From page 3:
3. Too many OEMs and demos. Something that seemed like a great idea at the time but turned out to hurt us in the end was the decision to make specific OEM releases before the game was truly finished. The main reason for this was that we looked at the revenue that would help the bottom line instead of considering how much it would set back the game.

Because there were both regular and low-violence versions of the game, we needed to make several different builds for the different violence levels and test each build accordingly. In the end, we had roughly 75 QA submissions. While each OEM and demo iteration helped bring more of the game together, it also diverted our attention from the final product. As we were tweaking and fixing the OEM versions, full production would come to a standstill as we focused on getting the smaller versions out the door.

4. No fixed deadlines. Originally, SoF was scheduled to ship in July 1999. Activision wanted to avoid releasing SoF in the "blast zone" of competing FPS titles that were shipping that year, so they extended the deadlines on the game. As our competitors' titles were pushed back, so was SoF. Although within these deadlines we had schedules set up and planned out, this caused a never-ending uncertainty of how much time we had left in the project and how much technology we could add or change within that time.
In March 1999, we realized that with our complex models and the amount of animation we wanted, we needed to address memory concerns. Because we thought that we only had three or four months left of core development at that stage, we concluded that switching to a skeletal system would be too risky for the project. Instead, we created a vertex compression system that mimicked the benefits of skeletal compression in a few ways. Unfortunately, this meant that we were not able to provide all of the animations at once, as we would still be over memory budgets. If we had known that our deadlines would be pushed back another six months, we would have added the skeletal system, saving everyone a large amount of headaches and work.

Inside my CD which does not say "oem" (all green Full NA full violence 1.03, non-retail, no boxes or anything, just a brown paper sleeve with CD Key on a sticker), has some files dated in 1999.

Retail Stores had these in stock before the official release date.

With 1.03's release "this early" Demo version has to be even "earlier".

I have no other information other than checking ASUS Deluxe Series release date or when exactly I built the systems, defo end of 1998/ early to mid 1999 before Y2K.

I remember installing the cheaper Celeron 400s and overclocking the FSB to 75 MHz from 66 and it was released Jan 1999 ( not that I bought them right then but months later) the 100MHz/ MT/s showed up exactly two years later (for the Celerons)
