Recording = no demos?

Hey

I was wondering if anyone else had problems with recording in sof and then end up, having no demos in their folder.

It's not for me cause it works, but i'm trying to help out someone.

He has the latest sofplus version, he used the recording fix, but when he records, he has no demos in his folder.

This also happens if he doesnt use the fix and uses the normal way of recording.

did he reconect in the server when he recorded himself ? otherwise u dont even have a demo running ?

Funny you posted this because this happened to me tonight. I'm 100% sure that I typed rec 1 before the match and that the console was cleared with the echo line: recording in between maps. But I cant find any demo files created on 21-3-12...

Did you manage to fix recording by setting the right permissions?

I just downloaded the record fix and assumed it was working.
I'll put the files back again next time I'll need to record.

It's just that this seemed to be the last problem that some people were having - demos not saving because the folder permissions were not set to read and write instead of the default read only.

HA that was probably it, when I checked the propeties on the demos folder, the read only box was checked!

Well it wasn't the case on my other laptop which was freshly installed, so it aint that obvious.

Just need clan leaders to check their players that couldn't save demos to untick that box now.

I just noticed when I uncheck it and press OK, the next time I click propeties its checked again to read only. It does give some message about are you sure blabla, when I click ok its unchecked but it aint working. What could be causing this? Its my own laptop, I'm administrator.

- Just uninstalled McAfee since I thought that mighta been it. But after a reboot I'm now able to uncheck the box and click ok without a warning. But when I click propeties again, its checked again. The fuck is going on?

I'm also seeing shields and being asked if I'm sure to do basicly anything. I'v been searching tru the settings but I cant see to find anything.

I dl the cheeterskeeter record fix and copied into base folder. Still rec 1 doesnt work. What have i missed? :sigh:

Have you put these 3 lines in your autoexec?

sp_sc_on_change _sp_cl_info_state "sp_sc_exec_file record_if.cfg"
sp_sc_on_change rec "sp_sc_exec_file record_start_stop.cfg"
add rec 0

Dusty was asking me about the same problem Hayo had, and when I checked my sof.exe, i noticed i cant run my sof as administrator. It's coloured in grey and u cant tick the box.

I assume this is because i'm not an administrator account and need to log in safe mode or something?
